Hotel Licensees And Barmen Fined
(P.A) INVERCARGILL, Dec. 15. The sequel to police raids ■on the Lorneville and Wallacetown hotels was heard in the Magistrate's Court yesterday when two licensees, two barmen and 40 other persons were charged with breaches of the Licensing Act. Mr. W. A. Harlow was on the bench. Ernest Jeremiah Cockerill, licensee of the Lorneville Hotel, who pleaded guilty to selling liquor after hours was fined £lO. David William Morris, a barman, pleaded guilty to supplying liquor after hours and was fined £lO. Samuel Herbison, licensee of the Wallacetown Hotel, pleaded guilty to selling liquor after hours. Zvonko Millicich, a barman, pleaded guilty to supplying liquor after hours. Each was fined £5.
Persons found unlawfully on the premises were also fined.
