LIGHTHOUSE KEEPER INJURED

AUCKLAND, Dec. 14,
Responding to an urgent radio appeal the navy tug Arataki, with a doctor aboard, left Auckland for Cuvier Island lighthouse on Sunday night. The assistant lighthouse keeper, Mr. Bucknell, while digging ground, had slipped and badly gashed his heel. The doctor landed at 3 o’clock yesterday morning and attended to Mr. Bucknell, who remained on the island. The tug returned to Auckland early yesterday afternoon.
