Secret Papers Hidden In “Dumb-Waiter”
WASHINGTON. Dec. 10,
Giving evidence before the House unAmerican Activities Committee today, Nathan Levine ,a New York attorney, who is a nephew of Whittaker Chambers, a former Communist spy courier, said that Chambers gave him documents for safe keeping 10 years ago and he retrieved them three weeks ago. Levine said he did not know what they contained. They were hidden hi the dumb-waiter shaft at his mother's Brooklyn home.
