Circulars Thown Away
“I know dozens of farmers who don’t read their mail ” said Mr. E. H. Ca
secretary of the Otago executive of Federated Farmers, at a meeting of the Otago Aid-for-Britain Committee. The possibility of taking a survey of farmers to find out their needs for domestic help was being discussed. ‘‘lts no use sending a circular to a farmer — he .iust throws it away,” he said. Mr. J. Preston supported Mr. Calder saying that he often received a dozen circulars in the mail and tossed them straight into the waste-paper basket. The committee decided to endeavour to obtain the information through the Women s Division of Federated Farmers.
