HOMES & SECTIONS SALES APPROVED: SOME ADJUSTMENTS

Among a number of applications dealt with by the Gisborne Land Sales Committee at its weekly meeting, a smaller proportion than usual were subjected to revisions of the prices agreed upon between the parties. Only one of the applications referred to farm-land. This concerned an area limited to two acres sought by a farmer in a flood-stricken area who wished to establish his home above flood levels.

In a series of applications covering sales of sections in a Waiotahi, Bay of Plenty, subdivision, two were subjected to revision of values, the reduction being from £75 to £OS on one area of lrd. 29per., and from £75 to £7O on another lrd. 31 per. The submitted price of £SO was approved on a third section of lrd. 27per., in respect of which the special Crown valuation was £65. The reductions were accepted by the vendor as was also a reduction from £750 to £7OO made by the committee in the case of shop premises at Ruatoria, on G-08per. The committee approved provisionally a value of £1530 on business premises in Kelly street, Opotiki, two bakers’ ovens being taken into account in the valuation. Other transactions approved at the meeting comprised the sale of 2ac. of farm-land at Matawhero, at £200; a dwelling on Foster street on 30.65 per., at £000; a dwelling in Desmond road, on 16per., also at £900; two sections in a Wainui subdivision at £6O for 24.35 per. and £135 for 39per.; a dwelling in upper Aberdeen road, with 2rd., at £1310; a section of 33.56 per. in Muir street at £BS; a dwelling on 10.93 per. in Berry street at £850; and a substantial dwelling in Parau street, on 2rd. 18Jpcr., at £3355. In the last-named case, the committee merely confirmed an approval previously recorded in connection with a projected sale which was not completed, the nominated purchaser having withdrawn.
