Polish Ship Mined In Baltic: All Aboard Rescued
LONDON, Oct. i. Forty-one people, including a a British woman, were rescued from the 1568-ton Polish steamer Lech X which struck a mine and blew up In the Baltic, says Reuter’s correspondent in Copenhagen. The crew of 31 and 10 passengers were taken off by two German fishing boats which landed them at Gedser in Southern Denmark. The scene of the explosion was off the south-east Danish island of Zeeland. The Lech X. owned by " the PolishBritish Steamship Company, was on her way from Gdynia to London.
