TORNADO DAMAGE NOW ESTIMATED ABOUT £300,000
(PA) AUCKLAND, Aug. 30. Competent authorities, it is understood. estimate that the loss from the tornado in Frankton and Hamilton be much less than £1,000,000 as at first stated. Some believe that less than £300,000 will cover the damage. Amazing progress was made with the restoration during the week-end by 300 workmen rfnd hundreds of volunteers.
