BOMBS USED AGAINST MALAYAN REBELS
(10.30 a.m.) SINGAPORE, Aug. 3. Bombs were used for the first time against insurgents in Malaya today when R.A.F. Spitfires attacked a Communist headquarters camp south of Perek. ... A concentration of huts adjoining ihe headquarters was destroyed by a bomb hit. Direct hits were made with rockets on other headquarters buildings which were set on fire, the air attacks being followed up by an Army and police sweep.
