TITO ENDORSES RUSSIA’S FOREIGN POLICY
LONDON, July 22,
Marshal Tito spoke for 101 hours at the Yugoslav Communist Party congress.
He denied the Cominform’s accusations point by point and accused it of inventing the charges. The majority of those who signed the Cominform's resolution belonged to countries which were far behind Yugoslavia in their development. “They have had partial success in besmirching our country, but it cannot last long since truth must prevail,” he said. He added that his Government was in complete agreement with the foreign policy of the Soviet Union —“because it is in accordance with the interests of our country and world peace.”
