VICEREGAL PARTY RETURNS FROM ISLANDS BY AIR
(P.A.) AUCKLAND, July 23. The Governor-General, Sir Bernard Freyberg, V.C., and Lady Freyberg concluded their three weeks' cruise of South Pacific Islands yesterday. Disembarking from the New Zealand cruiser Bellona at Suva early yesterday morning, Their Excellencies joined a National Airways Corporation flyingboat at Laucala Bay and landed at Auckland yesterday afternoon. His Excellency was attended by Major Wigram, M.C., Military Secretary, and Lieutenant Loram, R.N., andj Flight Lieutenant Cole, D.F.C., aides! de-camp. J Lady Freyberg was accompanied JB Miss Rosemary Eley. 4.N&S The High Commissioner for Western Samoa, Lieutenant-Colonel F. W. Voelcker, travelled to New Zealand with the Viceregal party. He will discuss Samoan affairs with the Prime Minister, Mr. P. Fraser, before returning to Apia about the middle of next month. Their Excellencies will travel today to Wellington where they will resume residence at Government House.
