SOIL HOSED UNDER TURF
“We took on a big job last season in truing-up the No. 1 green, which was perfectly true for 20ft. in from the ditch, but dropped an inch from that point to the centre,” stated Mr. H. E. Powell, presiding at the annual meeting of the Kahutia bowling Club last evening. “We tried all sorts of experiments, and we finally made a special tool to raise the turf. Then we hosed in under the turf 14 yards of soil, and trued up the green perfectly. “We have had the theodolite. on that green twice recently, and it is absolutley right. We did that job without disturbing the turf!”
