YOUTH CHARGED WITH THEFT FROM MAYOR

(P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH. July 22. A motor-driver, Murray Broughton Lovell, aged 19, Taumarunui, was arrested at Taumarunui yesterday afternoon on a charge of breaking and entering the house of R. J. Mills, Mayor of Mount Eden, Auckland, on May 21 and stealing £3OO in money and cheques for over £3B. Accused was remanded to appear at Auckland.

The police staled that other charges were pending.
