OFFICERS RESIGN: S.P.C.A. CRITICS

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, July 21. Alleging a lack of prompt attention to public calls made to the S.P.C.A. animal clinic and criticising the use of the society's vehicle and petrol, Dr. H. J. Finlay, who was chairman of the clinic management committee, has resigned from the society as from Monday last. Miss Zita Chapman has also tendered her resignation because of her expressed dissatisfaction with the way the affairs of the clinic had been handled.

Dr. Finlay stated today that he had resigned because the executive committee had failed to take any apparent action to rectify matters which he considered disturbing to a public body.

The president of the branch, Mr. G. G- G. Watson, said today that the postponement of consideration of the points raised by Dr. Finlay was dictated by the simple fact that several members of the committee and the secretary were absent from Wellington, in which situation it was thought better to defer the discussion.
