AUSTERITY MENU
WEDDING LUNCH PALACE FESTIVITIES TOAST IN CHAMPAGNE (11 a.m.) LONDON. April 26. The King, Queen and members of '-he Royal Family sat with 70 guests at a silver wedding luncheon in the white and gold State dining room. The menu was an austerity one of three courses, contrasting with the 12course wedding breakfast served in the same room 25 years ago. The luncheon was served on gold plates on tables decorated with yellow tulips and purple irises from Me Royal gardens. White roses surrounded the single-tiered silver wedding cake. The Queen, Princess Elizabeth and Queen Mary each wore the ( rder of the Garter. It is the first time In history that three ladies of the Order have appeared together. At the end of the luncheon party, Their Majesties cut the silver wedding The Duke of Gloucester prooosed their health which was drunk in efitmpagne. Servants at the Palace also drank Their Majesties’ health in champagne. ___________
