KILLED BY HORSE
EX-TRAINER’S DEATH ACCIDENT AT RAUPUNGA (S.R.) WAIROA, April 22. Early this morning the Wairoa police received advice that a man had died as a result of having been kicked by a horse. He was Sir. Charles Elcrs, widower, in his 50’s.
Mr. Elers was a retired horse trainer and lived in Hastings. He was on a visit to his son at Raupunga.. He was grooming a horse this morning when the animal kicked him, Mr. Elers dying almost immediately. The police and district coroner have left for the scene where an inquest will be held.
