WORLD BANK PROFIT
TWO YEARS’ OPERATIONS (10 a.m.) WASHINGTON, April 21. The World Bank reported yesterday that it had made a profit of 1 178.792 dollars since its establishment two years ago. It had wiped out a deficit of 1,063,805 dollars since June 30, 1947, and at March 31 held 470,000,000 in United States dollars and United States Government obligations. The deficit was caused by the fact that the expenses were necessarily more than the income in its early days before interest began to come in.
