RUSSIANS THREATEN BREACH WITH U.S. FORCES IN AUSTRIA
VIENNA, April 20. The Soviet authorities have threatened to completely sever their co-operation with the Americans in Austria unless the American officers and men are “strictly punished’’ for the “provocation” in the kidnapping- incident when the American military police rescued a girl from a car in which the Russians held her.
The Soviet Tass News Agency announcement declared that if co-opera-tion was broken "the United States authorities will have to bear the full consequences of their attitude.” The Soviet version of the kidnapping of the woman was that she was a
