DERELICTION OF DUTY
HARBOUR FERRY ENGINEER (P.A.) AUCKLAND; March 12. A finding that the engineer, Morris de Camp Ransom, was guilty of a grave dereliction was made by a Court of Inquiry into the stranding of the Devonport Steam Ferry Company's passenger steamer Ngoiro at Stanley Bay on December 12. Mr. J. H. Luxford. S.M., presided, with Captain A. S. Dalgliesh and P. E. Brewer as assessors. The engineer's certificate was suspended for three months and he was ordered to pay £lO 10s toward the cost of the inquiry.
