KIWI SETTLEMENT
W AI MAT A-WHANG AR A SEYMOUR ESTATE LAND Notice of his intention to acquire 1677 acres, situated in the Waimata and Whangara survey districts, has been Gazetted by the Minister of Lands, Mr. C. F. Skinner. The land is to be acquired under the Servicemen’s Settlement and Land Sales Act, and the notice given by Mr. Skinner sets April 5, 1948, as the last day for the lodgment of objections. The land is part of the C. FI. Seymour estate, and is situated seven miles inland from the coast at Whangara, with access by the Waiomoku road, now under consideration for reconstruction or diversion. The 1677 acres comprises Section 31, Block VIIIA, Waimata S.D., and Sections 30 and 32, Block V 5, Whangara S.D. It is the first area in that locality which the Minister has indicated any keen interest in, although other blocks in the same neighbourhood are said to be down for investigation shortly. This land will enable two Kiwis to be settled. One section has a good substantial house.
