SENTENCE QUASHED
ITALIAN EX-GENERAL OFFICIALS SET FREE ROME, March 8. Italy’s highest court annulled the sentence of life imprisonment imposed In 1945, in his absence, on LieutenantGeneral Mario Roatta, once Mussolini’s chief of military intelligence and absolved him of complicity in the murder of the Socialist Rosselli brothers In France in 1936. Roatta has been a fugitive since his escape from : a military hospital in March, 1945. >■ The court also absolved of the same * crime Fulvio Suvich, the former under-secretary and Feruccio Oenini, - foreign Under-Secretary for Albania, A and Francesco Jacomoni. Two other military intelligence officers were remanded for a new trial.
