ATOM SPLITTING
RESEARCH AT OXFORD (10.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 9. Within six weeks a betatron—an atom splitting machine—which the British Thomson, Houston Company, of Rugby, presented to the Oxford University, will be operating and playing its part in assisting British atomic research. The .machine will produce electrons of higher energy than any hitherto artificially produced in any university laboratory.
