Mistaken Impression of Fire
A mistaken impression by a passer-by at 5 o'clock this morning tfiat a fire had obtained a hold at the back of McKnight’s bakery in Gladstone road resulted in the Gisborne Fire Brigade being called out. The Grey street fire alarm was broken by the passer-by, who saw a reflected glow and sparks rising from the rear of the building. On investigation by the brigadesmen it was found that the glow and sparks were caused by the opening of the fire door to the baker's oven.
