MASTERTON RAM FAIR (P.A.) MASTERTON. Feb. 25. The Masterton A, and P. Association's ram fair was concluded late yesterday with an offering of flock and stud Southdowns. Entries and prices were somewhat lower than at last week's fair. In the stud section there were no sensational prices, values ranging from 13 to 65 guineas, the latter figure being obtained for a ram offered on behalf of Colin McLeod, Martinborough. Other top prices were received by L. A. Keats, Masterton, 55 guineas, and A. H. Kier, Masterton, 45 guineas. In the flock class only the best animals received attention, prices ranging from 7 to 22 guineas, the latter price being obtained by N. H. McLachlan, Masterton. Prices at the fair on the first day were on a par with those of last year following a cautious opening. Values improved later for good quality sheep which sold well. Stud Romneys made up to 70 guineas and flock Romneys to 2G guineas.
