WOMAN KILLED
CAR AND TRAIN COLLIDE PAEKAKARIKI ACCIDENT (P.A.) WELLINGTON. Dec. 16. An elderly woman received fatal injuries when a car in which she and her husband were travelling was hit by the Wellington-Auckland express train at the Paekakariki crossing shortly before 4 p.m. yesterday. She was: Mrs E. G. Godber, of Whiteman’s Valley, Silverstream. Mr Godber was also injured, but his condition at the Wellington Hospital last night was reported to be satisiactory. , , The car was struct in the rear and thrown clear of the line, but was not badly damaged. Mrs Godber, who was sitting beside her husband in the front seat, was hurled to the back of the vehicle and received severe head injuries. She died soon after admission to hospital.
