DECISION WELCOMED
EMPLOYMENT OF GIRLS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Dec. 16. “The Public Service Commission’s announcement that its girl cadets will be recruited to the permanent staff of the public service is welcomed by the Public Service Association, which has advocated this step for years,” said the secretary, Mr. J. Turnbull.
He added that the association had keenly advocated the principle of equal pay for equal work. The commission’s proposals would be carefully considered and the association would endeavour to find some way of achieving sex pay equality as soon as possible.
