CROQUET CLUB MEETS (Herald Correspondent.) At the annual meeting of the Matawai Croquet Club Mrs. W. Mortleman presided over a fair attendance of members including Mesdames G. R. Robb, McFike, P. Jacobs, N. S. and A. E. Gibson. The finances showed a satisfactory balance. Trustees were appointed. A hearty vote 'of thanks was accorded tha bowlers who attended to the levelling and resowing of the lawn. A letter from Mrs. Derbyshire, P.B. Croquet Club, conveyed a cordian welcome to.tha Matawai Club, and greeting from the_Gisborae and Turanganui Clubs and a copy of “Ross’* Book of Croquet Rules. It was decided to secure further supplies of balls and clip 3 and the book of rules. The silver button presented by Mr. E. Mortleman and won by the president is to be engraved with the winner's name. The membership fee is to remain at 5s per annum. The “button” competition will take place in February.. St. Mary’s Guild

At the monthly meeting of St. Mary’s Guild held at the residence of Mrs. G. F. Mortisman - arrangements were made for the Matawai flower show to be held in the Public Hall on Saturday week. It was decided to have three classes for flowers and one each for produce and fancywork. It is hoped to get judges from Motu, The Motu flow’er show is to be held this weekend.
