AUSTRALIAN TARGET SAVING THE U.’K. RATION SYDNEY, May 1. The immediate target of the campaign of the Australian Meat Board is 10,000 tosn of meat for shipment: to Britain within three weeks. Another 10,000 tons of meat for shipment to avert a breakdown of the British rationing system. Adequate shipping is available to transport this meat. All the meat consigned through the Meat Boad will be paid for at the ruling export rates, which are lower than the New South Wales price. Board officials emphasise that gifts of stock are not asked for. A Red Cross appeal in Sydney has raised £BO,OOO for British flood relief.
