GAOL FOR 15 YEARS
AMERICAN OFFICER THEFT OF HESSE JEWELS (11.30 a.m.) FRANKFURT, April 30. A military court sentenced Colonel J. W. Durant to 15 years’ hard labour and dismissal from the army for his part in the theft of the Hesse Crown Jews valued at £375,000 from Kronberg Castle. Durant’s wife, W.A.C. Captain K. N. Durant, has already been sentenced to five years’ imprisonment.
