VALUE OF LIRA SLUMPS FEARS OF INFLATION (11 a.m.) ROME, April 30. Thousands queued outside the banks to withdraw deposits and get rid of Italian money as the lira plunged to a new low black market record of 2300 to the £, compared with 760 a year ago. .
