KAHUTIA TEAM WINS
For the third year in succession R. Graham’s Kahutia rink won the Heretaunga Bowling Club's annual open fours tournament, played last week. The final match brought the visitors from Gisborne up against the veteran Engebretsen’s rink, and the match took over three hours to decide. Graham eventually winning by 1 to 15. In the semi-final round Engebretsen had scored a narrow win over Stewart, a Kin Toa skip who ran the Ileretaunga champion to a single-point decision; while Graham's rink had a comfortable win. 21-11, against Rowlands, Napier. The finalist rinks were Kahutia, S. Gooch, G. Brebner, D. Hickman and R. Graham (s); and Ileretaunga. Berry, Drummond, Maher, and Engebretsen, (s).
