PROPELLOR FALLS OFF
PLANE’S SAFE LANDING
(P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Dec. 10. An Auckland Aero Club pilot, Mr. G. Lowson, had a fortunate escape when a Rearwin sportster monoplane he was flying to New Plymouth shed its propeller approaching Bell Rock airfield. The pilot was at about 300 ft. when the accident occurred and was able to make a safe landing. Attention to the aircraft was drawn when the maintenance staff saw black -nooke pouring from the exhaust. The aircraft landed in the far corner of the field, but was unable to taxi to the hangar. An investigation disclosed that' the bolts on the propeller had worked loose.
