TRIAL OF JAPANESE
NEW ZEALANDER'S POST (P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Dec. 10. The honour of being the first New Zealander to sit on the War Crimes Court at Tokyo has fallen to a former Hawera man. Major R. H. F. Hollov. ay. Advice to this effect has been received by letter. , , ' The court, which comprises two Americans, two Australians and Majoi Holloway, is to try seven Japanese accused of atrocities to prisoners of war. It is estimated that the sitting will last between one and two months. Major Holloway, who is aged 24. is the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. M. Holloway, Hawera. and was a pupil cit the Hawera Technical High School In 1940 he entered Duntroon Military College, Australia, from where he graduated as a lieutenant in 1942. He saw military service in the Pacific and in Italy. ___
