There was an amusing sidelight at one of (lie Raglan by-election addresses when Mr. R. M. Algie, member for Remuera, was speaking at a meeting at Glen Massey. An interjcctor rose to his feet and said: “I used to own a radio. When you went into the House 1 sold it.” Loud laughter greeted this doubtful compliment, but Mr. Alcie remained unperturbed. ‘‘Why didn’t you tell me?” he replied, “I might have been able to help you with the instalments.”
