OFFICER ADMITS GUILT

BREACHES OF DISCIPLINE FAVOURS TO GERMANS (10 a.m.) LONDON, March 5. A British officer, Major T. C. Irvine, deputy provost-marshal for Berlin and Hamburg, pleaded guilty to charges of conduct prejudicial to good order and military discipline before a courtmr.rtial in Hanover. The prosecution alleged that Irvine used his official position to do favours for German civilians and also stated that he employed a German woman as an informant and subseauently gave her a car, requisitioned a private house, and used it for parties. The sentence will be promulgated later.
