JUDGE TO BE CHARGED
CULPABLE HOMICIDE BOY SHOT DURING RIOTS (10 a.m.) NEW DELHI, March 5. The Government of Madras has sanctioned the prosecution of a judge of the High Court, Mr. Justice Byers, for causing the death of a boy by a pistol shot on February 25, says the Associated Press correspondent. The boy was killed during the riots in sympathy with the Indian Navy mutiny at Bombay. The charge against Byers is culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Feeling ran high concerning the case. The Government gave an assurance that Byers would not sit and dispose of cases pending the hearing of the charge.
