585 M.P.H. FIGHTERS
R.A.F. USING JET PLANES (9 a.m.) LONDON, Feb. 14. The Air Ministry states that the jetpropelled Glostcr Meteor planes, which are in service in the Royal Air Force as standard fighters, have a lop speed of 585 miles an hour and are capable of flying 560 miles an hour at a height of six miles.
