Fishing has definitely improved ih the Taupo area during the past week and the few anglers there are enjoying good sport. Smelt have increased and are making up the streams in large shoals. Waitahanui, Hatepe and the Western Bay have produced trout up to 91b and several limit catches, mostly on the morning rise, have been taken.
