SETTLING ON THE LAND

RETURNED SERVICEMEN

CONCERN AT DELAY

(P.A.) HASTINGS, Dec. 18. Concern at the delay in settling servicemen on the land was expressed in a motion carried unanimously at a meeting of returned servicemen interested in farming which was convened by the Hastings R.S.A. Speakers expressed satisfaction with the grading system, but they passed motions seeking changes in the Rehabilitation Act to provide for a balloting immediately sub-divisions had been defined, immediate title to properties and ultimately the freehold title, and reasonable expenses for inspections of properties by prospective ballotees.

Another resolution strongly opposed any form of compulsory communal farming.
