MERGER ATTACKED
U.S. ARMY-NAVY CONTROL
HALSEY OUTSPOKEN
NEW YORK, Dec. 16.
After a tumultuous reception in the drive through the city streets, Admiral W. F. Halsey, formerly commander of the United States Third Fleet, in a speech at a testimonial dinner attacked the Army-Navy merger and asserted that but for' the Japanese Army domination of the Japanese Navy the United States would have had to fight the war from their own coastlines after the Pearl Harbour disaster. He added: “Tne merger medicos made too hasty a diagnosis and offered a pink pill remedy.”
