HANDICAP TOURNEY GOLF ON PARK LINKS The open handicap tournament conducted by the Park Golf Club over the week-end proved very successful and should become popular with local players. The main trophy was a handsome cup presented by the president, Mr. C. E. MncKay, for the best net score over 72 holes. Despite the boisterous conditions, many creditable performances were put up, especially by the winners. R. Kobb and F. Adcroft. who both returned 282 net, and will hold the cup for six months each. This was Adcroft’s first season and fellow-members were pleased to see that his patience and practice had been rewarded. The first medal round was won by S. Parker with G 8 not and the bogey match was divided by A. 11. IToy, L. Lunkcn and S. Rule, each 2 up. Registering 21 points in the second half of the Stableford round, R. Thompson won the round with 37 points* one point ahead of IT. Con nop and J. Reed, who divided the second prize. First and second in the final medal round were R. Robb, 66, and F. Adcrofc, 68. The best gross score was handed in by L. Lunken, who played four consistent rounds for a total of 383, with Robb 330, W. Horton 341 and T. W. Bayliss 314. The club’s activities for the season closed with mixed Canadian foursomes, in which visitors from other clubs took part. 'I he result of this competition was a tie between M. (Jordon and W. Horton and Miss Ensor and S. Rule. 45 net. All trophies in connection with the tournament and closing day may be collected from the secretary, Mr. \V. McKee, Lowe street. The final wind-up took the form of a social evening in the Kahutia Bowling Club’s pavilion, where trophies won during the season were presented by the patron, Mr. H. IT. DeOostn, who dealt with the club’s progress since its inception, nine years ago. Dancing was enjoyed by young and old and everyone voted the function a fitting finale to a very successful season.
