4,000,000 SETTLERS EASEMENT OF BAN PURCHASES OF LAND JERUSALEM, Oct, 8 A six months’ development plan to absorb 4,000,000 Jewish immigrants in Palestine without displacing the Arabs from the land, could be realised if the present restrictions against land purchase were lifted, said Dr. Abraham Granowsky. chairman of the Jewish National Fund. He added that the plan depended on permission to purchase 2,000,000 acres from the Arabs bringing the total Jewish-owned land to approximately 34 per cent of Palestine. Dr. Granowsky alleged that the Arab owners were offering to sell tens of thousands of acres to the Jews. At present 33 per cent of the population of Palestine, owned only (i per cent of the land. The National fund planned nearly 20 new settlements, including a modern city with a-population of 70,000 on the coast between Tet Aviv and Natanya. _____
