MILITARY WEDDING

RU SHE R —E LLIO TT St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church was the scene of a pretty wedding on Wednesday, December 27, when Agnes, daughter oi Mr. and Mrs. R. Elliott, Salisbury road ■, was married to Sapper John Arthur Rusher, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. F. Rusher, Auckland. The Rev. John Davie ofliciated at the ceremony and Mr, J. Moore was at the organ. The decoration of the church was artistically carried out with gladioli and hydrangeas, combined with ferns. . The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a lovely frock of white angel skin Satin modelled on classical lines. The longwaisted bodice, rucked in front, showed a sweetheart neckline and puffed sleeves terminating in a point over the hand. A box pleated train was a feature of the graceful skirt. Her exquisite veil of Brussels net loaned by a friend, was held in place with a coronet of orange blossom, and a beautiful sheaf of white gladioli and maidenhair fern caught with white satin ribbons was carried. The matrons of honour were Mrs. JE. Spencer and Mrs. W. Spencer, sisters of , the bride. Each wore a modified princess frock of parchment taffetas ornamented down the front, from the heart-shaped neckline to the hem, with tiny bows edged witn mauve. The motif was repeated on the puffed sleeves. A headdress of vainboWtintod gladioli was worn by each attendant, and a sheaf of similar blooms shading front palest pink to deepest mauve completed the ensemble. Mr. L. Wright, step-brother of the bridegroom, was best man, and Mr. F. A. Hcrkt was groomsman. A ''oception, followed by a supper dance, was held in Allan’s Hall. Mrs. Elliott, mother of the bride, was wearing a frock of black embossed cloque with white trimmings and a. black hat. Her bouquet was of scarlet gladioli, sweet peas and carnations. The bride and bridegroom, whose future home will bo in Auckland, left later on a tour of the East Coast. The bride travel* led in a smartly-tailored grey pin-striped suit worn with a grey velour hat and black accessories.
