DATE IN JANUARY? SETTLING DIFFERENCES LONDON. Jan. 2. President Roosevelt and Mr. Churchill are planning to meet towards die end of January and then at a rendezvous in a more convenient snot, with Marshal Stalin, says die Daily Mail’s diplomatic correspondent. No confirmation of this, is available officially, but it is believed that arrangements for an Allied llrreePower conference arc almost completed. A Washington message stales that Mr. Roosevelt at his press conference to-day said there was very close coordination between Britain. Russia and the United States, hut there were some differences, some ot which were important, while others were not so important. He added: “Co-ordination is very close and the volume of correspondence, telegrams and. communications going on all the time is amazing.”
Mr. Roosevelt endorsed the general idea of Senator Byrne’s suggested -work or fight” legislation cabled yesterday. Senator Barkley, who was one of the Congressional leaders who had discussions with Mr. Roosevelt, stated later that the President indicated lie would lie meeting Mr. Churchill and Marshal Stalin some time soon, states a Washington message. Mr. Roosevelt gave no indication of the time or the place.
