LORD BLEDISLOE’S HOME UNIQUE CHURCH WINDOW MR. NASH ENTERTAINED (By Telegraph—Press Assn.— Copyright.) (Special Correspondent.) (9.30 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 10. Lord and Lady Bledisloe charmingly entertained the New Zealand Minister to the United States, Mr. W. Nash, Dr. R. M. Campbell, and Miss Jean McKenzie at lunch at Lydney Park when Mr. Nash was en route to Kiddeiminister. ’ Mr. Nash was greatly interested to see the stained glass window which Lord Bledisloe presented to the ancient Lydney church which has a steeple built by Christopher Wren. The window reproduces a view ol Mount Cook and Frank Josef Glacier, as seen from the Waiho Church altar. It included the figures of Christ, also worshipping angels, a Maori maiden and. a pilgrim with the inscription: “I will lift up mine eyes to the hills.’ It is a unique window in Britain and will perpetuate the link between New Zealand and Lydney. Mr. Nash also was greatly interested in Lord Bledisloe’s fine New Zealand museum, including many New Zealand presentations and Maggie Papa-; kura’s greenstone mere, also kauri and rata bowls. Mr Nash learned that Lord Bledisloe produced a record crop of wheat of 60 bushels to the acre while he is also growing such varied crops as lucerne and sunflowers for poultry, also frostresisting beans. Mr. Nash saw Lydney Park’s herd of deer, now greatly reduced owing to the war. He was photographed with Lord and Lady Bledisloe in front of a bed of New Zealand dahlias of which Lord and Lady Bledisloe are justifiably proud and which Queen Mary greatly admired last year.
