J. Ward, addressing a public meeting in Adelaide. He advocated promotion by merit, and challenged men of independent means to “give up their club lounges and golf and work as any ordinary worker —on a central Australian aerodrome or in a factory.” The Minister promised to ask the Cabinet to take more drastic action against war profiteers by imprisonment and not fine them or allow them to repay their over-charges.
