GERMAN PRISONERS QUICK-WITTED WORKER^ (Special Australian Correspondent.). (9.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, July, 3. How two Germans, who recently escaped from a Victorian prisoner-of war camp, were recaptured through the quick-wittedness of a railway flagman, has been revealed. The flagman was working with a repair gang when he saw a man peering furtively around the corner of a shed on an adjacent private property. Recalling the escajie of the Germans, he decided to investigate. Unarmed, he confronted the two men who were behind the shed. In broken English they asked for food. The flagman said he would bring them some of his lunch. -He went to the nearest farmhouse and telephoned the police. When the police car arrived, the Germans fan but were quickly caught. The flagman responsible for their capture has .three sons serving overseas.
