Lieutenant Sinclair, Included in the above list, returned to New Zealand some months ago after exciting adventures following the battles of Greece and Crete. He was wounded in Crete during the fight for Maleme aerodrome, and taken prisoner, being transferred after treatment in hospital to, a prisoner of war camp near Athens. He escaped on his fourth night in the camp, and after some weeks at large in Athens and Piraeus was among a party who arranged for a boat to take them across to North Africa, a 10-day journey which was completed after many privations caused by a “dead” engine and lack of water. Lieutenant Sinclair is now stationed at a North Island camp.
