DIPLOMATIC ACTIVITY (Reed. Dec. 2, 3 p.m.) SHANGHAI, Dec. 1. The correspondent of the Associated Press of America, stales that Mr. Ernst Wendler, the German Minister to Thailand, has arrived by plane from Bangkok. The arrival in Nanking of Weidemann, formerly the German Consulgeneral in San Francisco, marked an intensification of Nazi diplomatic aptivity. It is expected that Weidemann and Wendler will confer with Zinsser, the acting German consulgeneral at Shanghai. WAR COUNCIL MEMBER (Reed. Dec. 2, 3 p.m.) TOKIO, Dec. 1. The Japanese Ministry announced to-day that Lieutenant-General Saburo Ando, a military aviation expert, had been appointed as a member of the War Council.
