WOMAN REMANDED
MANSLAUGHTER CHARGE A woman, aged 26, whose name was suppressed, appeared before Mr. H. A. Young, S.M., in Christchurch, charged that, by an omission without lawful excuse to perform a legal duty, she caused the death of her infant child, thereby committing manslaughter. A remand ms granted until December 4. “The circumstances of this charge are fairly exceptional,” said the magistrate. “There was a special reason for bringing you before the court on warrant, but there is no need to worry.” Bail was allowed in the accused's recognisance of £SO.
