QUALITY OF FLOUR
“UNWARRANTED ATTACK” BAKER ANSWERS CRITICS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Referring to the question of quality of New Zealand bread which was raised by judges at the Nelson show, the Minister of Supply, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, stated yesterday that he had received a telegram from a baker of many years’ experience stating inter alia: “I am surprised at this unwarranted attack on the quality oi New Zealand flour by the judges at the Nelson show. Probably inexperience and lack of knowledge in judging is their trouble. “Your department is doing a good job for the bakers and should be appreciated. After 22 years in business as a baker, I consider that New Zealand flour and bread to be better to-day than ever.” “Coming from a practical baker of long experience, this comment is particularly interesting,” said Mr. Sullivan.
